The Gornergratbahn

Dear L,

Sorry to write again so soon but tomorrow we're catching an early train over/around/under the Alps to Ticino. I don't know what my internet situation will be like over there so I may not be able to write again until we're back in Luzern on Wednesday. I'll miss your digital self! Any chance of Skyping on the 18th? Or do you have a cellphone? I found a calling card from Sweden to Thailand for just 3 cents/minute on top of local.

The fog cleared around noon so we walked into town to take the Gornergratbahn up to Gornergrat. Normal cars are illegal in Zermatt (no emissions and mountain breeze makes for very clean air up here!), so I took pictures of some of the awesome electric vehicles/oversized toy cars I saw on the way up.

Clockwise from top left: bus, truck, taxi, semi, pickup, van.

This path sign was a little busy.

Niki boutique: For easy kids.

Views from inside the Gornergratbahn.

Exercising on the ride up.

Gornergrat: Cloudy and menacing.

Love,
D
